funny.

I was cleaning out my inbox this morning and found this gem from my dad.  It gave me a little laugh - hope you enjoy it too!!

As Latter-day Saint women, we are practically obsessed with anxiously engaging ourselves in good causes. Maybe it's subliminal. Glancing through the hymn book last Sunday I noted that as sisters in Zion, we who are called to serve are all enlisted to go marching, marching forward because the world has need of willing men to all press on scattering sunshine.

We wonder if we have done any good in the world today because we have been given much and want to do what is right, keep the commandments, press forward with the Saints, choose the right, and put our shoulders to the wheel going where He wants us to go.

However, as the morning breaks high on the mountain top, truth reflects upon our senses, and while we still believe that sweet is the work, we also realize that we have work enough to do ere the sun goes down.

And thus we ask Thee ere we part, where can we turn for peace?
 

lucky/yucky

B: "Mom. Tomorrow is gonna be half lucky and half yucky."

Me: "Oh, really?"

B: "Yup, lucky because your are getting older and yucky because it is gonna snow."

Thanks, buddy. You keep my life in perspective. :)

a weekend with grandma

Months ago, my mom and I planned to travel to Idaho for the weekend to spend some time with her mom, my Grandma Becker, along with my aunts.

Jared, Niccole and Taya couldn't stand to see us have all the fun, so they came too!!

And Braden is always up for a little adventure, so he loaded in the car with us!!

Braden and Taya provided constant entertainment for the weekend, in one form or another!

Grandma couldn't get enough hugs and kisses from the kids.

I love that Braden was so sweet and willing to kiss and be kissed!

(even if his cheeks did get a little pink..)

Thank goodness for my sweet Aunt Miriam, who got us here, there and everywhere. She was WAY better than my GPS!!

Braden LOVED Aunt Susan's daffodils and when I got home and uploaded my pics I found lots of cool pictures from Susan and Harry's beautiful yard. Makes me so excited for spring to come!!

Too bad I didn't get a picture of them in their yard.. but I did get a pic of Harry, Susan, Niccole, Taya and Jared!

Anyway, I loved spending the weekend with my mom's family.

They are so great and it just made me love my Grandma even more.

A little snorkeling in the beautiful pool

at the Waiohai on Kaua'i's south shore...

...lots of rest and relaxation...

..pool time all the time...

..except, of course, when it was beach time!!

..to a little pool above Waipo'o Falls.

We paused for a few minutes on the little falls above

the 800 foot drop off.

(good thing we stopped at the top -

this is just before Kimbel slipped over the edge.)

The falls don't look to ominous in this pic,

but this puts it all in perspective!

We hiked in to the little shelf in between the two falls.

After that experience all of our waterfalls were viewed safely from the walkway that we could drive to... behind the safety rail!

.. we spent a little too much time in the sun

and some of us wished we were mermaids!!
