pumpkinfest

 Fun times.
Gooey pumpkin parts.
Kelly's tasty pumpkin seeds.
Good clean (or not) fun.
 The preparation.
 Tracing red bird to perfection.
 Madison's intense look. :)
 Kenna's nod to texting...
 Cruz loves Mad's goofy jack.
 Braden's angry bird.
Really?  Could it be anything else? :)
And Kimbel's moustache jack... she seems to have a fascination lately! :)

fast and furious. kl style.

So.
I got my chance to visit Shirlee in Kuala Lumpur.
Not the way we had planned, but a visit, nonetheless.
Shir was REALLY sick and in the hospital for a few days and upon returning home realized she could use some help.
That's where I came in.
Talked to her Sunday evening and was on a plane Monday evening!
Yup.  Fast and furious.

So, here are a few of the pics I took...

Ethen and Maya trying to get each other wet!

Shir (after she felt better) and Maya at the
infamous food truck.
I wish it came to my house!!

Maya and I stopped to pose on our way to the mall.
(realizing I'm not going to wear that shirt again... not flattering!)

The amazing artist who wrote each of the girls names on a single grain of rice.
Then the rice was put in a charm and made into necklaces for Ken and Kimbel,
a keychain for Madison.
Shout out to Mad - who took her driving test the day after I left and passed with flying colors!!!
Is it wrong that she had to drive herself to the test?

Picture from inside the Chinese Central Market.
What a fun place!

A Buddhist temple that we stopped and visited after the market.
Very interesting.

And very colorful.

Okay.  I think Ethen is the "fast" part of this post.
The only time he slows down is when he's asleep...
or Thomas the Train is on.  :)

The seaweed aisle at the grocery store.
I brought some home for my family.
It wasn't a hit.
No. really. yuck.

The night view of the Petronas Towers from Shir and Dave's apartment.
It is absolutely breathtaking.  Gorgeous city.

I'm so glad I could go and provide a little love and support at least.
Don't know how much I did, really.
I just colored with Maya and played trains with Ethen
and thankfully Shir was on the up and up when my time was done.

Worth the 30 hours of travel time to get there.
Thanks to Niccole for being the heaven-sent auntie
and thanks to Kel and the kids who stepped up and let me go.
And thanks to Dave and Shir for showing me around their latest adventure. :)

late. night. chaos.

Here's a little recap from Kimbel's
late night, pajama party, double digit
birthday extravaganza.

First... the cake.
Kimbel knew exactly what she wanted...
and I didn't know exactly how to pull it off!
But after a little stressing out and the discovery of fondant...
she got her slumber party cake!!
Go me!

Because the pizza guy was 35 minutes late the girls had some fun outside time in the rain storm that blew through.  Just enough fun and frolicking to set the tone for a really busy, LOUD night!

 The girls!

The presents!

The candles!

A little symbolic of how I felt around 10:45pm -
when it all quieted down around here!

fun. fun. fun. :)

 On to the REAL birthday!
Saturday morning Kimbel played in her soccer game at 10am and
it made her day when the team all sang to her.

which hand?
A favorite tradition passed down from the Braithwaites.
(notice Cruz thinks he is the center of everything fun!)

ms. happy.

modeling her favorite gift from Grandma D.
duct tape to make all kinds of treasures!
(sorry about goofy me in the back!)

... and finally!
Cake and ice cream AGAIN!!
This time shared with Grandma & Grandpa B.
at their house after a yummy birthday dinner at Olive Garden.
Kimbel really knows how to party it up for her birthday!
We had a fabulous General Conference Weekend
with a birthday spin on it.

We love you Kimbel Love Muffin Duffin!
you rock!

Welcome to the Double-Digit Club!

Happy 10th Birthday, Kimbel!!

I can't believe how time flies...
I sure do miss this little Love Muffin.
But I absolutely adore the gorgeous, sweet
10 year old you have become!!

Hope your day is AMAZING!!
(just like you.)

mission control?

How I love this kid!

BJK's astronaut Halloween costume came in the mail today...

and he has had it on ever since.

(he had no idea I was even in the room!)

supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

Mary Poppins was "practically perfect"!

Saturday night we headed into Salt Lake City
for a night of fun.
(I didn't consult the BYU or Utah Football schedules before buying tickets... oops...  sorry honey.)

Anyway, we all LOVED the show and were definitely not ready for it to end.  The music and magic were definitely worth the 3 hours!!  It was a great way to spend a family night out...
some of us were VERY tired when it was over! :)

(Oh... and don't worry about Kelly - the BYU/Utah game was rebroadcast from 11pm to 2am.  We didn't turn on the radio or the tv when we got home so that he could watch it and be surprised like everyone else!!  and he did.)
